SUMMARY:

Eagle Title is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our growing team. This role focuses on underwriting commercial real estate transactions, with additional responsibilities in processing and supporting file preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in title insurance underwriting, experience with commercial files, and a collaborative mindset to support both pre- and post-closing teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Underwriting

  • Review and analyze commercial real estate titles, surveys, and related documents to determine insurability.
  • Prepare title commitments and evaluate risks based on established guidelines.
  • Resolve title issues, including obtaining releases of liens and securing necessary documentation.
  • Communicate with attorneys, agents, lenders, and underwriting counsel to resolve issues and provide guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and participate in ongoing training.

Processing Support

  • Assist with pre-closing tasks such as verifying monetary amounts, preparing settlement documents, and coordinating with transaction parties.
  • Support post-closing activities including document review, recording, and disbursement verification.
  • Update proprietary software with relevant data and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with processors to ensure smooth file transitions and settlement readiness.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in title insurance underwriting, preferably in commercial transactions.
  • Experience in title processing or pre-closing functions is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Qualia.
  • Knowledge of title insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Active notary preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

 

Wage Range: $31/hr – $40/hr
