Position Summary

The Head of Human Resources plays a strategic and hands-on leadership role in aligning HR practices with organizational goals. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR strategies, programs, and initiatives across the employee lifecycle. The Head of HR will act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, department heads, and staff across the company, providing guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & HR Operations

  • Partner with executive leadership to establish and implement human resource strategies that support company goals and culture.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for management and employees across assigned business units.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop proactive solutions, programs, and policies that address workforce challenges and opportunities.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, and hiring strategies to attract top talent.
  • Ensure all onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes are delivered effectively and in compliance with policy.
  • Promote inclusive hiring practices and expand recruitment platforms including job boards and social media.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Counsel managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and terminations.
  • Conduct investigations and ensure proper documentation is completed in accordance with company policy and employment laws.
  • Support internal communication strategies and morale initiatives that align with core values and enhance employee engagement.

Performance & Development

  • Oversee and continuously improve performance management processes, including annual reviews, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to design and deliver leadership development and training programs.
  • Coordinate training initiatives to support employee growth, compliance, and HR best practices.

Benefits & Compliance

  • Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring employees understand options and paperwork is accurately completed and submitted.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee FMLA and other leaves of absence, FLSA classification audits, unemployment claims, and related HR reporting.

Culture & Internal Brand

  • Work with Marketing and Executive teams to foster a strong internal culture aligned with brand values.
  • Develop and manage internal communication strategies that reinforce mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree and/or SHRM-SCP/SPHR preferred).
  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a senior/AVP or executive HR leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of HR disciplines including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training, and compliance.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing HR strategies in dynamic, fast-paced environments (experience in real estate or financial services preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and develop strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems strongly preferred.

Salary Requirements: $120 – $155K
