Getting to Know Zanna Clayton from Eagle Title Southern Maryland

At Eagle Title, every smooth closing starts with a team of passionate professionals who truly love what they do — and no one embodies that more than Zanna Clayton from our Southern Maryland branch. With deep roots in Calvert County and a genuine love for her community, Zanna brings warmth, attention to detail, and a touch of Southern Maryland charm to every client experience.

What’s your go-to hidden gem in Calvert County?
“Two of my favorite spots are Running Hare Vineyard and Jefferson Patterson Park. Running Hare has such a great atmosphere — the perfect mix of relaxation, live music, and local charm. Jefferson Patterson is special because it’s where my husband and I got married. Now we take the kids there to explore the trails and the waterfront, which makes it even more meaningful. It’s one of those places that’s beautiful no matter the season and really shows off what makes Calvert County and Southern Maryland so special.”

Coffee first or tea always? Where’s your favorite local spot to grab a cup?
“I love both coffee and tea, but coffee definitely wins first thing in the morning — preferably iced! I’m a Dunkin’ over Starbucks kind of girl, but when it comes to a local place, I prefer The Lobby Coffee Bar in Huntingtown. The coffee is great, but I also love the environment, the pastries, the acai bowls, and their seasonal drink options. It’s one of those places where you can work or meet a friend.”

Best way to spend a Saturday:
“We love being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. We’re lucky to have a close group of friends we grew up with who now all have kids the same age, so our weekends often turn into mini get-togethers where the kids can run wild and make memories together. Summers are all about pool days and sunshine, and when fall comes around, we’re at the local farms soaking in every pumpkin patch and hayride we can find.”

If someone was visiting Prince Frederick for the first time…
“I’d tell them to head to Calvert Cliffs or Flag Ponds. They’re great places to hunt for shark teeth, pack a picnic, walk the trails, and just take in the views.”

Favorite dessert spot:
“I have a serious sweet tooth! Ice cream is usually my go-to, and Mrs. Moo’s Corner is our favorite local spot. They have the best flavors, and it’s always a fun little family stop. I also love a good dessert after dinner.”

If you could only eat at one local restaurant for a week straight, where would you go?
Brick Wood Fired Bistro in Prince Frederick would be my pick. Their menu has so much variety, with great apps, amazing pizzas and pastas, along with other entrée options, and the drinks are always on point. I also love that they use ingredients from local farms. It’s nice to support a place that supports our community while serving food that’s consistently delicious.”

What do you love most about working in title?
“I love that every day in title is different and that it’s all about teamwork. From collaborating with agents and lenders to helping clients through the process, there’s something special about being part of a team working toward one shared goal of getting people home. I also love that the industry is constantly changing, which pushes you to keep learning, growing, and adjusting in a shifting market. Seeing it all come together at the end never gets old.”

What excites you most about being part of Eagle Title?
“I love the collaboration and the forward-thinking approach at Eagle Title. The culture here is incredible, and everyone works together toward the same goal of standing out and being the best of the best. It’s exciting to be part of a team that’s constantly pushing to elevate the experience for both clients and real estate partners through innovation and service.”

Describe yourself in three words:
Passionate, collaborative, and authentic.

Something people might be surprised to learn about you:
“Most people don’t know that I was a wedding planner before I had kids. I loved every part of it — the planning, the design, and the energy of the big day. It was fast-paced, detailed, and all about making people happy, which feels a lot like what I do now in title, just with a different kind of celebration at the end!”
